Docker Preflight Before Writing Finalize

Automating repetitive development workflows is one of the greatest force multipliers in software engineering. In this portfolio, an automated writing engine regularly checks for scheduled article drafts, backfills missing calendar days, validates article schemas, and commits approved posts. However, autonomous automation without strict preflight safeguards is a dangerous recipe for broken builds.

If an automated script attempts to finalize and push articles when local container runtimes are offline or build dependencies are unmet, the script will push unvalidated code to version control, triggering red pipelines and broken releases. To prevent this, we established a strict Docker preflight gate that must pass before any publication action can execute.

Our production verification suite relies on containerized Docker execution to guarantee complete parity with our self-hosted Woodpecker CI runners. When `npm run writing:finalize-batch` executes, it requires a healthy Docker daemon to run isolated linting, TypeScript compilation, and pre-deploy QA checks.
